The Listening Point is built on a simple but powerful idea — sometimes, what a person needs most is not advice, but someone who will truly listen. Our network connects people in need of emotional support with trained volunteer Active Listeners who offer a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space to talk.
1. Reaching Out
Anyone in the Bangladeshi community across Germany — especially students — can reach out to us when they are:
Feeling lonely, stressed, or overwhelmed
Struggling with studies, work, or finances
Coping with loss, cultural transition, or personal conflict
Simply needing someone to listen without judgment
2. Connecting with an Active Listener
Once you reach out:
We connect you with a trained volunteer Active Listener in your city or university (or online if in-person is not possible).
The listener offers a neutral, non-political, non-religious space to share your thoughts and feelings openly.
Conversations are confidential — nothing you share will be repeated without your consent.
3. Support Beyond the Conversation
While we are not therapists, we bridge the gap between crisis and professional support by:
Helping you identify next steps
Suggesting trusted mental health resources
Staying connected for follow-ups if you wish
3. Accessible Anywhere
Our network operates across German cities and universities, and is expanding continuously.
"One conversation can be the first step toward healing."
At The Listening Point, we believe that active listening is not just a skill — it’s a lifeline.
